A Toast to the New Year

I have so much to be grateful for. My health, my husband, my family and friends. Without them I don't know where I would be today.

2009 has been a defining year in my life- where I learned to not play it safe, take chances, and follow my heart. I am looking forward to a prosperous 2010, and I want to thank all of you for supporting me and this blog.

Christmas Palette

I am always looking for new ideas for decorating the tree...there are so many more options out there besides the usual "red and white." Here are some great ideas...

Sleep Time

I am more of a "morning person" than a "night person." Anyone that knows me personally, knows that I completely shut down by 10:00pm. I love sleep. If I don't get at least 8 hours per night, I am moody for the rest of the next day ( I don't know how all you moms do it)!

When I wear a sleep mask I almost always have a great night sleep. It blocks out light that can disrupt sleep.

Light influences our internal clock through specialized "light sensitive" cells in the retina of our eyes. These cells, which occupy the same space as the rods and cones that make vision possible, tell the brain whether it is daytime or nighttime, and our sleep patterns are set accordingly (

Here are some whimsical sleep masks by Mary Green-so you can sleep in style!

Here is a replica version of the eye mask Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

How many of you wear sleep masks?

Forget Me Knot

I am always looking for fun and fabulous jewelry that I do not have to spend a fortune on-I previously worked for a famous costume jeweler- so quality is very near and dear to me.

Forget Me Not, $199 ( also available in sterling silver)

I found this ring made by Brooklyn based designer Kiel Mead. It LOVE how delicate it is, and the rope detail is very "David Yurman." This ring would make a perfect gift for someone-or just for you! Forget Me Knot ring is available at

Blue is a yin energy and is the primary calming color. In Feng Shui, blue refreshes energy and eases pain while promoting peace and positive feelings of love.

The color of the sea, it promotes a calming water element. Feng Shui connects blue with feelings of adventure and inspiring intellect.

Inspiration comes in many different forms-I enjoy looking at interior spaces to gain inspiration from the colors used as well as different design styles-and use them in my everyday life.
