I need a change...my home office is boring, and well, sort of just thrown together. It has no color, its kind of cluttered, and no style. I am looking to re-vamp my office-and get more organized. I am not sure what colors or "theme" I would like to incorporate... So I went searching for some office space inspiration...

Lavender Tea

Lavender is one of my all time favorite scents-especially in the cold winter months.  Nothing beats a hot lavender bath! And I love to slather on lavender scented creams to cure my dry skin (my favorite by L'occitane). It is such a calming scent, that I thought why not drink it? I have never had lavender tea, but after reading this recipe, it sounds wonderful, and I will defiantly give it a try!

Here are some benefits of Lavender tea:

It may help alleviate depressive and migraine headaches. Lavender tea, when applied topically, may help alleviate colds, cough, asthma, bronchitis and similar problems in the respiratory system. Alleviates stress and reduces muscle tension Lavender tea may help induce sweating and consequently reduce the body temperature during fever Lavender Tea Recipe {recipe via: Lavender Gardening} 1 teaspoon dried lavender flowers (English lavender) 1 tablespoon English Breakfast tea a dash of fresh lemon sugar or honey to taste To prepare, pour two cups of boiling water over the tea leaves and lavender and allow to steep for five to ten minutes. Add lemon, strain, add sugar or honey to taste. I can't believe it is Friday already-this week flew by! I am working this weekend, but hopefully I will have a chance to relax with a cup of tea (or wine). What is everyone doing for the weekend?

Best Dressed-Kate Bosworth

You may be wondering why I changed my Style Icon series to Best Dressed? Well, after some thought I have come to the conclusion that calling someone an icon may be a bit misleading. With that said, this week's pick for Best Dressed is none other than the fabulously stylish-Kate Bosworth.

Ever since she burst onto the scene I have been admiring her vintage and elegant style. She is always perfectly polished at events, and comfortably chic around town.

This is the most perfect shade of powder blue to compliment her golden blond hair and two-tone blue eyes.

Spring into Style

On another dreary, snowy, day here on the East Coast, I am dreaming of turquoise waters. I have started my "research" on what I will be wearing for S/S 2010, and today I thought I would share with you some of my delicious finds. Enjoy!

Birthday Boy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOOMERANIAN!!!

Today is Boomer's fourth birthday! We already gave him his birthday gift this weekend at the pet spa; he got "the works." He will be celebrating the day by lounging on the couch, eating milkbones, and chasing his tail. Tonight he will feast on his favorite meal...chicken and rice :) What a life!

Black Velvet, If You Please...

Nothing says luxury like black velvet. This dining room set is just spectacular! Not to mention the giant wall mirror and chandelier-I just looove this space!

I would love to dream in this bed-it looks so inviting... the wall details are amazing!

Adding black velvet in accents such as drapes (above) and pillows (below) give these rooms richness and warmth.

Happy Monday, My Dears

How was everyone's weekend? What did everyone do?

Kevin and I went to the movies. I think the last time we went to see a movie in the theatre, they still had Drive-In's.  It is not like we don't like the theatre, we just always seem to wait for the movie to come out on dvd...

We saw Shutter Island- and all I am going to say is that it was super intense and very strange- but overall an excellent movie!

Did anyone else see it this weekend? What are your thoughts?

Quote of the Day

 If you are waking up today just thinking of the loooong week ahead of you- know, you are not alone. Winter blues are such a bummer. BUt just think of all of the things you are grateful for- and just think- Spring is right around the corner (I hope). Let's make this week a good one!

Soap Addict

I love love love handmade soap! There is just something about the natural look and feel of it. I stumbled upon this Etsy shop, The Soap Addict where they make their soaps using all natural and vegetarian ingredients.

Some other scents available include, Rosemary Mint, Lemongrass Green Tea, and Mint Chocolate. These soaps would make great hostess gifts, shower favors, or add them to overnight gift bags for wedding guests.

Brown and White

I just think there is something so rich and luxurious about the color combo of brown and white. I love the brown velvet couch paired with the unexpected  white pillows and lucite table.

What a lovely lovely headboard! I am totally obsessed with the fur throw blanket and zebra rug! These textures add depth to an otherwise blank slate.

This is a fabulous kitchen! There is my white marble counter top again!

Snow, Snow go away...

I am sooo over all this snow we have been getting here in the east coast...I am dreaming of sinking my toes into white sand beaches, warm waves crashing on my legs, and holding and ice cold margarita! How much longer do we have to wait for summer?

I met my husband almost six years ago on a "blind date" and as soon as he got out of the car I said to myself, "this is the guy I am going to marry." I always said it was love at first sight...

                                      

I am so blessed to have someone who believes in me, and pushes me to reach for the stars, someone to laugh with, to cry with, my best friend, my soulmate...

His death, a shock, comes days before he would debut his new collection at fashion week.
