White Dining + Giveaway!

I was told that we can not paint our new house (new construction) for 6-12 months due to the heavy settling that occurs the first year it is built. So for a year, our house is going to be chalk white. Keeping that in mind, I have been searching all white interiors and I am loving what I have found! Here are two all white dining tables that I am in love with....

{via Country Living}
Isn't this just lovely! I adore the beautiful table cloth and fabric on the chairs! And check out those chandeliers (you know I am a stickler for chandeliers)!

Here is a modern white dining room...loving these vintage 60's pedistal chairs and pops of yellow! The futuristic light fixture is to die for as well!

Which room do you like better?

The Summer Wind...

This weekend I am just going to try to soak up as man sun rays as I can, eat all the seafood I can, drive with the windows down, and cruise around on the boat drinking Blue Moons...

Design Inspiration

Among many places, one of the places I go for design inspiration is fashion runway shows. I was browsing  Style.com and came across Donna Karen's fall 2010 runway show. I instantly found a color combination that I will definatetly being using in our new house...

Light Grey

Blush

Jersey Shore Weekend Review: The REAL Situation...

 I never really understood the obsession that is "Jersey Shore." I mean, really...is it real or scripted? That I can not answer, but all I know is what I have experienced this weekend...and that I dare to say was way better then any Snooki/ The Situation episode!

{via}

I actually have only watched two episodes of The Jersey Shore on MTV. If you read this blog regularly, you probably know I live at the Jersey shore. No one I know looks or acts like any of the cast members so I was always under the impression that they had to be acting..No one could actually look and act like that...or do they? Well, the answer to that question is a big fat YES!
This weekend was my friends bachelorette party at the Jersey shore. We went to a West Long Branch which is a recently developed, "upper scale" beach town with nice restaurants and boutique stores. It is no where near Seaside where the show is taped. Anyway, after dinner we decided to have drinks and go dancing at Le Club (which the name itself is kind of a joke).  Since we ate at the restaurant, we went right upstairs, but outside there was a line with about a 20 min wait to get in. As I glanced out to check out the line, all my eyes caught was glimpses of too tight, too short dresses, with too much cleavage and too much makeup...all in all "too much." But who am I to judge? I have been married for 2 years and out of touch with "the club/single life."
Nothing could have prepared me for what I was going to experience upstairs...As we walked into Le Club, I immediately noticed that I was taller then most guys in the place (I'm 5'2 and I was wearing these shoes)...I thought to myself..what the??  I grabbed my friend Rachel's hand and said "why is everyone so short!" She said..."I was thinking the same thing!!"
Ok, I am being DEAD serious, there was not a guy in there that was taller then 5'4!! Apparently "G.T.L", "bullet proof hair" and juiced up bodies really do exist and there were 100s of them! I have nothing against short men or anything, but this was something out of the twilight zone (and no not that twilight)! Before we knew it, we were HYSTERICALLY laughing at the scene...Now don't get me wrong, I am fully aware that Jersey has had this "fist pumping" stigma for a while now, but this was different, much much WORSE!
So I guess you could say that I was living in denial, kind of like when the Sopranos were on TV and as an Italian American I would say that it was totally disrespectful, but secretly related to a lot of things that were portrayed. I in NO WAY relate to the Jersey Shore cast or show, but I do have to admit that their "lifestyle" is totally intriguing, addicting, and comical to watch, and when you experience it live it is on another level of juicy entertainment. So if you are in the area, and need a good laugh (or scare) check out the "real" situation...

Has anyone else had this traumatic experience? Thoughts?

PS. Sorry for the lack of bachelorette pictures..I was too busy laughing...I'll take a lot at the wedding ;)

PeekaBoo, I Want You!

I am still trying to find the words to describe my "Jersey Shore" experience this weekend...so until then, stay posted...

{via}

Right now I am all about the Fendi Peekaboo for fall...I am loving the "lady like" silhouette. It is simple and classic and will be a staple for years to come...

The only problem is the price is totally "not hot" (sad face)...What do you think of the Peekaboo? Loves?

The Queen B's of Fashion

Let's face it, we all look to the media for fashion influences' and the next big trend. Even the people who "don't follow trends" follow something or someone. Obviously, if you are any sort of "fashionista" or "trend spotter" Vogue Magazine is the "go to" magazine. The September issue being the Mother of all issues, and our "bible" to fashion for fall/winter style. It is where every designer wants to place an ad or be featured in an editorial, and where new emerging designers can say they have "made it."  In honor of the arrival of the September Issue, lets look closer at "The Queen B's"  of the magazine, the ones who sit front row at the fashion shows, and the ones who pick and choose what gets featured- and what is just rubbish....After all, they are the ones who 'hear it' and 'see it' first, so why not look at them...

Designer Spotlight: Samantha Pynn

Samantha Pynn is the host and principal designer of Pure Design on HGTV. She uses her "flirty, fresh" style to create personal, layered, and inviting interiors for her clients. While browsing through her web portfolio, I quickly fell in love with her work...

This nursery is ADORABLE! It is not too "baby-ish" and can be used way into the "toddler years"

I am sure any kid would like to play in this space, and any parent wouldn't mind it either ;)

This bedroom space is dreamy..I am obsessed with those chairs! Actually the look a lot like the one we just bought for our family room, but ours are navy and white....

Check out that coffee table! Isn't it great?! Also loving the color and pattern combo in this space as well!

PS. There have been BIG updates with our new house- I will post photos as soon as I can!
