What to Wear- NYE?

I love the holidays for so many reasons, one of them being the chance to dress up. Here are some outfit ideas for the big night...

Fancy Soiree:

I LOVE the metallic silver color in this Halston Heritage cocktail dress. You want to know the best part of the dress? It's reversible!

Love that!

Dinner for Two:

This is the perfect outfit for a New Years Eve  dinner date. If you have plans to party afterwards, you could take the blazer off for a more relaxed look.

Lounge Party:

The detail in this A.L.C dress is all in the back...

House Party:

Love love love these Gucci skinny black leather pants! Paired with this flowy Alexander Wang blouse and black patent leather Loubs makes this outfit perfect!

I found a 1960's mod dress in a vintage shop that I will probably go and pick up today to wear for New Years Eve...

What will you be wearing this New Years Eve? Did you buy something new?

Our First Snow

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday, we sure did! Santa was extra nice to me this year- I am truly blessed.

I would love to hear what Santa brought you this year!

I am happy to report that we survived our first big snow storm in our new house! Whether they will ever come plow our road is another story...

We live in a new development on a brand new road that no map even recognizes yet....we may as well be stranded here for awhile...

This is our last week in 2010, let's make it a good one!

PS. Here we are on Christmas with our little nephew Ethan!

Wall Of Wood?

I LOVE it!

How was your weekend loves? We went to this shop, and bought the most amazing piece! Once we get it in, I will post pictures... I was going crazy in the store because I literally wanted everything in there- so there will definitely be more treasures to report soon!    We also watched movies, and drank wine by our fire and our Christmas tree = the perfect Saturday night. Yesterday Kevin was at the Giants game, so I baked cookies and did some last minute holiday shopping. Overall, perfect weekend.

Have you started a fire yet this year?

Kayce Hughs: Holiday Gift Guide Guest Post

I was delighted when Cara suggested that I do a post on a Holiday Gift Guide.  As a mother of 7 children I have a lot of experience in the land of toys.  Here are some of our time tested favorites.

1. Blocks

We purchased these years ago.  They are actually 4 sets put together and we keep them in the kitchen/family room.  We got our sets at target but I don’t think they still sell them.  I found some here.

2. Vintage Looking Teddy Bear

This little guy is as cute as he is soft.  I bought it to put in my store for babies or little girls and then two of my teenagers took them.  So his appeal is broader than I thought.

3. Playmobil 123

My mother gave my oldest one of their train sets 16 years ago and I add to the set every Christmas.  I am not a huge fan of plastic but this is the really high quality stuff and I will be saving these for when I have grandkids.  I have a basket full in our kitchen.

4. Crayons

These are my favorite crayons.  They are the only kind we use in our home.  They are much harder than you average crayons so they don’t break.  I love the red case that they come in.  The triangular shape means they don’t roll of the table.

5. Bamboo Handled Purse

I love to give one of our purses filled with goodies.

When it comes to the little ones on your list think quality over quantity.  Things that can be added onto over the years make it easier to stay organized.  Pick things that encourage creativity.  I also love books …you can never have to many.

Thank you Kayce, these are some wonderful gift ideas!
