You may or may have not read my Oscar Challenge last month-but I was pretty excited when Mila Kunis was wearing the Ellie Saab dress that I had originally picked for Nicole Kidman. Didn't she look stunning?

Guest Post: Gallery No. Eight

Hi everyone! It's Brittany from Gallery No. Eight here today sharing some gorgeous living room inspiration :) I've always loved these sorts of posts, and I thought it would be really fun to do one for all of you!

Starting off, I adore this artwork by Ann Carrington, Pearly Queen of Bow. It's made entirely of pearly off-white buttons! I knew I wanted to include this :)

After searching around on some of my favourite home stores, I found this stunning rug and coffee table from Anthropologie. I thought the creaminess of the table worked well with the art and decided to take my colour palette from the colours in the rug.

 So, vignette number one! I love chaise lounges, and this one is especially lovely! Paired with one of my favourite series from IKEA, and some beautiful pillows from Dwell.

The Lure of California Style

When you hear "California Style", there are a lot of different ideas that come to mind.  For some, it means a Spanish Mediterranean home with old-word details. For others, it conjures a modern artist's residence in Venice, and for still another, a glam Hollywood hideaway.

What I love about California, though, is it can be all of those things.  From a perfect surfer's shack with a bird's eye view of the break, to a bungalow tucked in a tree-lined town, California style at its essence, is a love and appreciation of beauty and often the nature which surrounds it.

With their mix of wanderlust and detail, here are just a few examples which may leave you wanting to pack your bags.

First stop is a peek inside the Beverly Hills guest house of Kelly Wearstler for her venture into Bravura Modern.

Next, is a trip down South to San Diego for the simple pleasures of the bungalow.

For a more mediterranean feel, Santa Barbara intoxicates with its warm, ocean breezes.

Guest Post: Sprinkles in Spring

Hi everyone! This is Kara from Sprinkles in Springs guest blogging for the other Cara you know and love. 

It's halfway through NY Fashion Week and here are a few of my favorite looks that have come down the runway so far:

After an outstanding Spring 2011 show a few months ago, Jill Stuart amazed again— this time with deeper hues and color blocking (and really cute graphic print dresses with owls and foxes that you have to see to believe). One of my favorite looks that I chose to illustrate was this orange dress (the color for 2011) with a faux peter pan-like collar.

Another great look for fall is from DKNY. Capes are also going to be popular again this year and Donna Karan did a great thing with this cape paired with a striped dress and bare legs. Perfect for those in warmer climates that still need some winter outerwear.

 This look from Daryl K might be the most appealing to me because it's something I could definitely see myself wearing. An oversize white shirtdress with leather leggings, black boots and another one of fall's big trends— a furry vest.  

Here's to a great second half of NY Fashion Week... I'll be watching! And a special thank you to Cara for letting me do this guest post. The Love Potion

Ingredients:
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Peach Schnapps  
1 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
Ice cubes

Directions:
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake and serve on the rocks or with crushed ice. Add raspberries or cranberries as garnish.
