Spring is not only a start of warmer weather and longer days, but also the beginning of "wedding season." If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may know that I have spent the last 3 years of my life attending many (many) showers, bachelorette parties, and weddings. This year is the
first year since we got engaged that we don't have
any to attend (trust me I am not complaining). It is a much needed break for us and our wallets, however my love for weddings still has me searching online for the newest trends. I know many of my readers are planning weddings themselves, so I would like to devote the next week of Lilac and Grey to
Weddings....
It all starts with
The Ring
1933 1.20ct European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, Platinum, Single Cut Side Stones, $6950
About a year ago I was at a store in Princeton, NJ and the sale associate was wearing the most amazing ring, I couldn't help but stare at it! I knew that it looked round, but it definitely was not round brilliant (the same cut as mine), so I had to ask her...she said it was a European Cut diamond, and that the ring was passed down to her by her grandmother (so sweet). The European cut diamond is making a BIG comeback, and as you can see above it is stunning.
Fun Fact:
"Appearing in the mid 1800's, the Old European-cut Diamond or OEC, has a round symmetrical circumference often with an open culet, a high crown and 58 facets, similar to the Old Mine-cut Diamond but more round than cushion-shaped." -Fay Cullen
