I love to see couples make their wedding day uniquely special by showing their "style" through details. Sometimes it is hard to express your personal style and execute it by yourself, so that's when wedding planners and venders come in. Like an interiors designer they can take your ideas and turn them into magic. This past January, Hitched had a showcase event hosted by Bash, Please and Urbanic Paper (some of the most creative people in the wedding/event industry) where many other amazing vendors all got together to share their talents...

Wedding Season

Spring is not only a start of warmer weather and longer days, but also the beginning of "wedding season." If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may know that I have spent the last 3 years of my life attending many (many) showers, bachelorette parties, and weddings. This year is the first year since we got engaged that we don't have any to attend (trust me I am not complaining). It is a much needed break for us and our wallets, however my love for weddings still has me searching online for the newest trends. I know many of my readers are planning weddings themselves, so I would like to devote the next week of Lilac and Grey to Weddings....

It all starts with The Ring

About a year ago I was at a store in Princeton, NJ and the sale associate was wearing the most amazing ring, I couldn't help but stare at it! I knew that it looked round, but it definitely was not round brilliant (the same cut as mine), so I had to ask her...she said it was a European Cut diamond, and that the ring was passed down to her by her grandmother (so sweet). The European cut diamond is making a BIG comeback, and as you can see above it is stunning.

Wednesday Style + Guest Post

 Transitioning is hard. Nothing is worse then transitioning into a new job or a new schedule. Every year I have a hard time transitioning from one season to the next. I am just not a fan; and it is hard to know what to wear. From summer to fall I always question "When is it too early to wear ankle boots?" Or I am asking myself now, "When is it to early not to wear black opauqe tights with every dress or skirt."

Here are some things you can wear now....or later....

Office Space

I have been really busy with work these past few weeks so it is taking me longer then I expected to finish designing my office. I have a general idea of what I want to accomplish- but now it is I just have to have the time (and money) to go out and get everything to complete the look.

Here is my design inspiration so you can get a feel for what my office will eventually look like...

I originally wanted to get a detailed wall covering for one of the walls- but all of the ones that I adore come with a hefty price tag. I figured an easy way to cut costs is to paint large stripes like this space above on one of the walls instead of using expensive wall covering.

This is another photo that I have bookmarked in my inspiration folder for my office- and if you haven't guessed yet what color I plan to paint my office- drum roll please...it is....Lilac.

I bought a clothing rack from a retail wholesaler, which I have displayed all of my "vintage finds" on. It adds some glamour to the space.

If you have any suggestions for this space I am all ears! I hope to complete the space soon-so I can post photos for all of you to see!
