Hi dolls! I don't have a post for you today. I went into NYC yesterday to get a dress for a wedding and I literally tried on every single dress in Bloomingdales (three full floors)! I ended up buying three, because I just couldn't make up my mind! The funny part it is- I already went through this process the week before, where I went to every single store in Short Hills Mall- finally found a dress- but they had to order it in my size. A week later I found out that my order was cancelled, because they ran out of the dress! Ugh. What a process...
What is your experience dress shopping? Do you find a dress right a way? Or is it a major process??
Ps. That is why Rent the Runway would never work for me!
I can commiserate. I find that when I need something, I can never find anything. My last resort is straight to Nordstrom's where I find a personal shopper and just have her help me out. Quick and efficient!

ReplyDeleteWhat a relief to discover I am not on my own! If I have to buy something for a special occasion its always a mission and I usually end up buying several things and returning them before I find 'the one'. I am trying to buy things when I see them now though, so I always have something on hand in an emergency
ReplyDeleteIt's not a major process for me. I know my style and I don't waver from it too often, but it's fun shopping!
ReplyDeleteI have certain designers like Laundry & Nicole Miller that are my go-to designers for dresses. Makes it easy if you know what brands fit your body.

I somehow love to pick out the dresses that need to be altered the most to actually be flattering! ;) but it is fun trying on beautiful things! and then on to the shoe hunt it is....xo

ReplyDeleteThankfully I'm a bridesmaid in the next wedding BUT it was so hard to find something for the rehearsal.
I am just like you when it comes to shopping but have found that Rent The Runway works amazingly well! I know what shape fits my body and you can order two sizes. I've ordered for 3 weddings now and get so many complements each time. The best part is I only spend $50 a dress!!
ReplyDeleteI have the hardest time finding a dress when an event comes up too. I've started buying dresses when I find something flattering at a good price even if I don't have anything to wear it for. But then I have the problem of the closet full of dresses with no place to go! :) Would love to see the dresses you bought!
ReplyDeleteI feel like so much less of a freak knowing I am not alone! I am going to take a short break from trying dresses on, but as soon as I feel like I can I will try the 3 on and take pics to show you guys which ones I chose!
